Title

KItfox Lite project update by John Wigney, posted 3.18.09

Body

Don Sink's hangar was a hive of activity last night as a high powered team rapidly progressed through a number of different jobs on the fuselage. I try to have packages of parts ready for each evening's activities. The jobs are being worked through so quickly that I am having trouble staying ahead, but that is a good problem. Last night's team was Tad Sargent, Ron Murray, Bob Allen, Alex Becker, Brent Songer and JohnWigney. We are making good progress. Last night's jobs included :- Flaperon handle - added spacer washers. Flaperon cables - installed. Plywood floor - installed and back drilled for rivets - needs final varnish. Brake pedals and cables, completed. Following are partially complete - fuselage stringers, seat belt, seat pan and back, and throttle assembly. To date we have had 7 sessions and have about 126 hours invested with 12 members being involved. We are almost finished on the fuselage and the only major jobs remaining in this area are the fuel tank, tank fittings and the fuel shut off valve. However, before moving on to the wings, we will need to do some safety checks on all the individual bolts and fasteners and do some fitting work to free up the rudder and elevator hinges which are very stiff. More members are invited to participate. Cheers, John
